Will Healy Fired

I would assume that Hill’s comment about “put two and two together” meant that Healy himself, or others he told about the 8:00 am call informing him of the 10:00 am meeting, made a conjecture that was picked up by the original news source on Twitter that broke the story (actually before it became a story.)

clt can confirm the spy

Hunter with some appearance updates. I imagine he will be talking a good bit about Healy and the coaching search.

If any of you aren’t already following him already, I strongly suggest you do so.

Nope… it was a leak. No way they could has also "two and two"ed the interim coach.

If you want to hear an unintelligible conversation about the events of yesterday, listen to the last 15 minutes of the 2nd hour of Kyle Bailey’s show. His “producer” that cannot annunciate words said JMU is a better job than Charlotte.

I hope gaber is looking into the leak. I think everyone would agree everyone including healy knew it was coming (maybe not mid season, but it was clear after Saturdays game his time would be up) . But its a terrible look for our AD that he found out on social media. If mike is suggesting its healy’s camp thst put it out there, how would they of known the interim HC??

Been on both sides. When you’re the boss and have to hire older more experienced personnel it can be intimidating. He’s probably too young or self-centered to master that balancing act.

See my post in the coaching candidates thread. It gets worse than that.

The Cover 3 Podcast open their show talking about Will Healy and the Charlotte job.

The last guy that spoke about our job on that Cover 3 podcast nailed it. He said the AAC is set for a reset, and that signals a perfect time for an investment. He thinks we should go invest in a really good coach and put our stamp on the league as a new entrant.

I completely agree with him.

Its always interesting to hear unbiased outsider perspective on our atheletics program. I reapect they were pretty knowledgeable for the pieces they spoke on given they are covering the national scene and top 25 programs that we are far away from becoming. They were pretty spot on in general.

They pointed out our challenges holding onto assistant coaches - do we know for sure is that a budget issue or could it potentially have been anything related to Healy’s lack of experience showing once they “opened the hood”?

They also debated if Charlotte was a good job or not. Definitely worth the listen for those that havent yet!! Thanks for sharing.

I can confidently say with Atkins budget was absolutely the issue.

It is not uncommon for the AD and Football coach to meet after a game. It’s just like a sales exec meeting with the sales rep after losing a client. I am sure Healy was thinking it was probably coming but for Hill or someone on his staff to leak it is unprofessional and Hill should be fired.

Leaking is in vogue just ask the Supreme Coirt, the FBI etc.

Mike is professional and experienced so there is no way I believe the leak was from him AND if it did in fact come from his team, they will be swiftly dealt with. My money is that Healy’s agent is the source. Really shitty way to depart the program he ‘cares so much about’ if you ask me….

Hard for me to believe that Will’s agent would have info on his replacement before the meeting…has to be inside ?

Accidentally heard some of Bailey’s show in the car today. Instantly regretted it. He has morphed into Packer. Mouth-breathing, Wal-Mart callers and all. I was just waiting for a “frisbee catching dogs” reference.

Yeah when Hill was asked about the leak in the press conference today he kind of suggested it came from Healy’s side without coming out & saying it. Rossomondo was the only guy on staff with head coaching experience so it would have been pretty easy to figure out that part of the puzzle.

Disagree. Hill or someone on his staff leaked this information. Healy’s agent would not do that.
