Will Healy Fired

Why would Hill do that? He has nothing to gain. Healy on the other hand has been playing the social media game to promote his cause for years. He got the call about the meeting at 8:00. He knew what was happening & had plenty of time to leak it before the 10:00 meeting. And his agent is a snake who would do anything to try & generate sympathy for his client & try to make Hill out to be the bad guy.

I agree he Hill has nothing to gain. Itā€™s not uncommon for Coaches and the AD to meet after games. I am sure he had a clue he was being fired but in most cases a coach wouldnā€™t report it to the media.

Except he made a point to say he heard on twitter so he used it as a marketing tool. It gets out often. Mike also said people have been tweeting for a couple weeks that he was firing the coach and thereā€™s only one ex head coach on the roster.

Hill had zero reason to leak it himself. End of story.

If one of his staff did it then Iā€™m sure they will be punished appropriately.

If you actually believe Hill leaked this and/or are calling for Hill to be fired about this you just donā€™t understand how business works.

Donā€™t think Mike leaked, makes zero sense for him to. I do think itā€™s high possible someone in SID did. I think itā€™s odd weā€™ve had two leaks around football coaches. I know we all blamed Houston but maybe he was telling the truth when he said it wasnā€™t him. Both make our AD look bad. Wonder if we have someone in our AD that is working against Mike due to Judy loyalty or something?

I sure hope not. Thatā€™s not putting your employer first and is ultimately self defeating. If Hill succeeds then you succeed. If he fails if your the leaker you may go down with the ship as well.

People give Healy all of this credit for his media polish and how he creates buzz but my god it is refreshing to have an AD that can in 90 seconds clearly explain why he made a decision and how winning is the priority. Letā€™s hope the selection process runs smoothly and we get a talented coach who can develop talent and understands play calling so we do not waste to many years rebuilding!

LOL. I know how business works.

First Iā€™ve seen of this person but he seems pretty dialed in.

Mike Hill, Darin Spease, Chris Fuller and the Chancellor should be the only ones that should know before Hill speaks with Healy. It is simple that Mike Hill either shared with the firing with someone who shouldnā€™t be in the know or he leaked it.

Regardless, Hill is responsible for the leak as he is the leader of the Athletic Dept.

Totally agree with Mike being responsible but no way he did it. Zero reason for him to and just makes him look bad. Iā€™m assuming lawyers know as well maybe a donor or two depending on financials. I still think SID got some info for press release and leak was at that level.

Yea I donā€™t see where Hill would do it but with the interim name leaked, if I had to bet came from our end. Loose lips sink ships (and could have already with Houston), itā€™s not a great look for us.

Itā€™s also possible that Hill had discussed it with the media (Kunkel), asked them to sit on it until he had a chance to talk to Healy, and they didnā€™t sit on it.

The leak wasnā€™t ideal but are we really going to be debating this weeks and years to come? Hill informed Healy at 8AM he wanted to meet with him at 10AM. Donā€™t you think Will knew at 8AM what was about to happen?

Make the right hire here and all will be forgotten and/or forgiven haha

Agree. Fix it if you find but itā€™s not a big deal to me

Just hope itā€™s not the same leak as the one that cost as Houston. Keep the new search circle really tight.

It could be if in the Houston case it was Houston who leaked and in the Healy case it was Healy.

Does it really matter at this point? I think Hill will endeavor to find out, unless it was him.
Weird situation all the way around. Bottom line is Healy is gone and we need a new coach.
