Will Healy New Coach

Interestingā€¦

Heā€™s not leaving after one season, or two.

This is such crap. Why Will and not appyā€™s coach?

or Lane or Clark or the guy at Mephis or Helton?

I honestly think these guys are writing these kind of pieces to be able to say ā€œI was all over this two years agoā€ when Will goes to his next gig.

  • Lane is a candidate at Arkansas . This is a business either way coach Healy is getting a pay raise. I would be shocked if he jumped to a P 5 job right now But itā€™s all about image & demand be interesting to see how much of a raise hill gives him *

Daboā€™s endorsement carries weight?

Because Missouri is looking for more than just somebody that can win football games. Appyā€™s coach can win football games with a loaded roster but what else can he do or has he proven to this point? He is certainly not a media darling or a marketing machine of any kind.

Missouri needs a culture change, energy, enthusiasm, a recruiting boost and some pubā€¦the good kind (sound familiar). Healy is just a different beast when it comes to those other things.

Butā€¦if his goal is to coach at a Top 25 schoolā€¦taking the worst SEC job out there would basically preclude him from getting a better mid tier SEC job later. Not sure this is the optimal job to jump at for him longtermā€¦but money talks. And even the worst SEC team has plenty of that.

Not sure what is realistic but some smart man once said at a press conference that you ā€œneed to act like youā€™re in the SEC before you get to the SEC.ā€ I think that sentiment will be seen in the Master Athletic Plan coming out soon as it relates to our facilitiesā€¦why shouldnā€™t that mindset be applied to coaches as well?

I donā€™t expect Hill to pay him like an avg SEC coach after one 7-5 season in CUSAā€¦but I do think you need to make a VERY strong statement and pay him like a mid tier AAC coach at least. IFā€¦IF Hill truly believes that Healy is the guy that can help get us there.

If you want us to be in the AAC and think Healy can get us thereā€¦gotta act like weā€™re there now and pay him like it (per his own advice)

And I have no clue what a mid to upper tier AAC school football coach makes

*Just googledā€¦a mid tier AAC football coach makes between $1.5MM & 1.75MM

Compare the best HC pay in CUSA (Littrel or Clark) with the lowest in the AAC. We win this bowl and Healy should get somewhere in that range.

clt just donated to the 49er club

No way in Hell. Their fans and boosters will lose it with a hire like that.

I donā€™t know nothing, but I do know custom says Niners canā€™t have nice things. Brace yourselves.

Iā€™m going to be the logical one and say that there is no way in hell that Healy gets scooped up this soon. That being said, if it does happenā€¦I fear that I will make the official transition into skepticism like many on this board.

This time last yearā€¦Hill got played by an agent leaking and working behind the scenes to get a better deal from another school.

Feels like deja vu.

Seems like Healyā€™s agent is leaking all over the place to do the same for him. Did he leak & use Missouri to get the Old Miss offer. Or is leaking that too for something even bigger.

Hill looked bad last year when this happenedā€¦how bad will it look for him to get played again and misses out on Houston and keeping Healy all within 1 calendar year?

Did Hill look bad, or did Houston? I donā€™t really know what Hill could do about this. These are teams that can pay more money than we could possibly dream of.

Thereā€™s literally a provision in Healyā€™s contract that says he must notify Hill before being in contact with another school for a coaching position. So unless youā€™re baselessly accusing Healy or his agent of being in violation of his employment contract, if he has even actually interviewed at either of those places, Hill isnā€™t being strung up here.

And if he did in fact turn down Mizzou, take some minimal comfort in the fact that he is being more selective than just about anyone here has given him credit for.

I just dont see Healy being the kind of person to leave us after one year, based off what he has said. If he left this year, it takes away his integrity to a point. He came here saying he wanted to get us to our potential, and wanted to be here.

I believed him then, and I still do. He seems to be a high character young man, and until he proves me wrong, I trust him. And before someone mentions the money, his time will come if he succeeds here. No reason to jump after a year.

The source of this info is a dipsh*t blogger from barstoolsports.com LMAO

Healy could put all this speculation to bed by making a statement heā€™s not going anywhere for now. Letā€™s see if he does that.
