[QUOTE=49erMatt;320519]Here are a few sites for you RROD victims to check out. Especially you ninerball49 since you opinion is that know ones owns a PS3. Read it and weep. The 360 was better for a limited time only because it was introduced 12 months before the PS3. PS3 will be around long after 360 is dead on gone. TRUST ME.
I don’t have to trust you. I know that the PS3 is better hardware. I don’t care about hardware. I care about games. I still play my dreamcast more than our ps3. I also play my saturn more than our ps3. If I am a fanboy it is only for sega, and I am unabashed about that. I love sega, and most of their consoles (Saturn was really disappointing).
But Ps3, right now, is a crappy system. The exclusives are mostly lame (mgs4 is not out yet), and the ones that aren’t are rentals at best. The online format pales in comparison to 360. There are few games on the horizon for PS3 that actually look entertaining. And besides, is sony really the company that should be championing a fault free system? It only took them three tries to get one that works. I know I went through two PS2, and my roommate has had two ps2, and two psxs because they were pos systems. great games, but super faulty.
Microsoft screwed up by having crappy hardware manufacturing, there’s no question. But I didn’t have to buy a NEW 360 when it screwed up like I did with my PS2. They are replacing it for free. That is nice. When something finally comes out for PS3 that makes it worth owning, we might dust ours off and play some games. maybe Resistance 2…maybe. I never got into MGS, but I admit if I liked stealth action games I would probably be excited about that.
Plus, that whole site said nothing of vaule about the 360 or the ps3. It was just opinion, what about that is supposed to make me want to buy a PS3? And I don’t care about how many people own a system. Mariah Carey is the top selling solo artist of all time, that doesn’t mean she is the best.

And that is the conundrum that Sony is in. MSFT is already well on it’s way to developing the 360 replacement. Does Sony leave the PS3 in place as a prior generation machine competing against a next gen box or do they cut the PS3 cycle short and come out against the next xbox with their PS4?
Both companies I am sure already have some design standards and R&D happening on the next gen, the question is does Sony concede this generation to MSFT or do they try to hold on and let some game titles arrive and hope that drives business against a next gen box?? Tough call for Sony if you ask me.

I know my role in life is to instill hatred in you, but this is an excellent post. Any post that works in a Manilla Carey insult is a winner to me.
It will probably be another console in 2-3 years. I can’t imagine that, with the success that Microsoft is having in the US, they would want to rush another system out like they did with the 360. If they keep rushing systems out, they are going to bankrupt themselves. They need to recoup the market with games and accessories.
Also, they should learn the lesson that Sega did, consumers don’t want newer systems faster, they’d rather milk the life out of their current system. Trying to push the envelope usually kills a company.

Of course not…they come out with the PS4 that, like everything else they make, will “eventually” be better than the competition…it just won’t ever happen until it’s outdated anyway. An infinite predicament, I’m afraid. Good job giving 3 articles from one obviously biased source. Don’t try looking around or anything. All I have to do is google and find any of the 100 sources that say otherwise, but I don’t care to waste my time, because there’s no persuasion needed to buy a 360. Buy whatever you want. Tell me, has anyone ever seen anyone troll a forum begging people to like the 360?

Whoa buddy - I have a 360. I am just pointing out the decision Sony will have to make. I am not a PS fan in the least.

Listen, no one is begging you to switch to PS3 if you want to play cheap plastic system that inevitably will die, fine by me. Yes 360 has more units sold and games out but it’s only because they have been in the market for an entire year longer and PS3 is closing in very fast and will soon have some great titles out. Within the next year PS3 will have more units sold even with your 12 month head start. I can only imagine that being a pretty embarrassing day for Microsoft and 360 lovers. Something you probably will never admit but everyday more and more people are moving to PS3 for a few simple reasons. Everyone knows and understand that it is an overall superior machine, and the only things 360 has over PS3 (Games and Sony’s version of Xbox Live “Home”) are on the way. Once that happens, then what will 360 have over PS3, nothing but a failure prone plastic box. Sorry but the truth hurts sometimes.

How about this: Start up a thread to get everybody’s PS3 online IDs and if it gets long enough to make me feel insecure about my X360, then I’ll get on that thread and try to convince you and your Sony cronies that my system is better.

It’s been pointed out by a few on here, but people are already satisfied with 360. It’s not about switching, it is about getting a product that has multiple successful accessories. PS3 doesn’t have these yet, and I don’t forsee many coming out “very soon,” even if there are some Sony has already dropped the ball by not having anything come out with the system, that is a big no-no. They were too busy worrying about they system that they totally forgot about the games.
It almost reminds me of the PS2 vs. Xbox situation. MSFT rushed out the Xbox to compete with the PS2 but it severely lacked games and the controller was originally a cluster****. Hence, why PS2 drubbed it in the beginning, but just as “your numbers suggest” the PS3 is catching up on the 360, the same way the Xbox caught up to the PS2.
Where are your numbers on total unit sales to show PS3 is catching up? It also may have to do with the fact that the 360 has spread out over the market. I’d almost bet that these new PS3 owners already own 360’s and it’s not that they dislike the 360, but are avid gamers and want variety, as well as a blu-ray player since Sony bought out the market, which is another key point. If I have to pay an unrealistic amount to watch movies (since Sony bought the market) then I might as well get a gaming system with it.
Sony built a major following with the PS and PS2, hell until Halo/Halo 2 came along I never even touched an Xbox. I thought it was clunky and the games sucked, but I eventually owned one and liked it just as much as my PS2 (although still preferring my PS2 by a slim margin). Then the release of the 360 came and yet still no PS3 and when it came the games blew hard, it was a complete letdown from the standpoint that at one instance Sony’s third party list of games destroyed MSFT’s. Now I’m hearing GTA4 is better on 360 than PS3? 4 years ago that would have been unthinkable.
Another thing is that MSFT will bring out a new system, and Sony has put themselves behind the current curve. Whether the PS3’s stats can match the next MSFT gaming system will likely be mute point, b/c since it’s NEW people will flock to it thinking it is better graphically just b/c it is new.

There is really no point arguing with you guys on this matter, like you said this is a 360 thread and you are obviously a little biased. So I’ll leave you with this, don’t get me wrong, 360 is a good system but soon when the titles start flowing in and the Devs fully understand how to use all the technology the PS3 has to offer the 360 will not even be in the same class. Which will force microsoft to come out with a new system that will still not be better than PS3 just finally equal to. I will now exit your RROD thread and let you get back to discussing what game you were playing when your 360 died. Sounds fun.:lmao:

The thing is there are not to many games that are Playstation limited anymore, grandtheft auto and many other games used to be only for playstation but thats not the case anymore so most big games that come out for the PS3 will probably come out for the 360.
And the cheap xbox stuff, Ive had my xbox 360 since it came out and got the red ring of death two months ago and it was replaced for free, so give the PS3 that long and you have no idea whether something like that might come up.

We’re obviously biased? You posted opinionated articles to say the PS3 was better and are obviously biased yourself. Pot meet kettle.

Well, he obviously doesn't have a rebuttal for what I've posted, that's all the evidence I need.
He didn’t really have a rebuttal for anyone’s point except a laughing rolling emoticon, opinion based articles, and continuing to say “you just wait, it’ll be better”.
If the PS3 outsells the XBox 360 its only because no one buys the 360 in Japan (they hate Microsoft). In America, the 360 will continue to outsell the PS3 by a wide margin. The Wii will continue to outsell both systems in America and abroad.
If hardware was all that matters the XBox would have outsold the PS2.

Maybe you guys just don’t read that well. In my last post I said there is no point in arguing with your little 360 clan. You would defend your 360 if it was on fire. So why try to reason with the unreasonable. By the way NovaNiner, maybe you should get your facts straight before posting. PS3 has outsold 360 in 2008 in the US. Check the stats, and again back to your RROD discussion I’m going to watch a Blu-Ray.
